30 Days of Beauty-Day 4: Adult Children's Laughter

I am sitting in my living room listening to my grown sons laugh.  They are playing a video game in our basement and having a great time together.  As adults, they haven't had many opportunities for such carefree laughing and enjoying each other's company.  This is one of the wonderful outcomes of all of us living together.

After my grandchildren go to bed, we are finding more time to spend together as adults.  Last Saturday, we all played a board game, Small World, together.  We are trying to commit to Saturday game nights whenever possible since it is something we all enjoy.  We had a lot of fun together.

My older son, Drew, and his wife, Claire, are also enjoying evening activities.  My daughter-in-law continues to go to her knitting circle on Tuesday evenings, but she has also started yoga classes.  My son can take the time to go running even if she is gone since I am here to listen for the kids if they wake up.  They went to a late showing of the newest Star Trek movie one evening.  I hope that they will take advantage of the opportunity to go to more late evening showings.

All of these positive outcomes of our new living arrangements are great.  However, listening to my two sons laugh together tonight is beautiful.  Since my younger son, Dane, has Crohn's disease, it is great that they can grab these times to laugh together when he is feeling well.  The sound of them together is a joy to listen to.  It is even better now that my daughter-in-law is home and has joined them!

Have you found your joy today?
