Those who really know me well know that I am truly a night owl. One of my favorite things about retirement is that I can stay up late since I don't have to get up at a certain time in the morning. My natural body rhythm is to stay up until 2AM and then get up at 10AM. That gives me 8 hours of sleep; I'm just off a "normal" schedule.
If you are a night owl like me, you will know that there comes a time each night when the house settles. It becomes calm and quiet. I often write at those times, because I'm my most creative. The words and thoughts flow more easily. I also love to read during the quiet. I am filled with a quiet joy as I soak up the quiet and prepare for sleep. So, as you are preparing for bed now, I am hitting my stride and looking forward to the beauty that is the early morning quiet.
Have you found your joy today?
